Our Window Etchings
|
| |
The glass window etchings in Saint
Gabriel's Church were designed by artist John Bera of
nearby San Marcos.
The first phase was completed in 1981. In the Chapel,
the scene represents the Annunciation with the words
"Ave Maria" and "Hail Mary" highlighted. |

On the medallion the word "Fiat" signifies
Mary's acceptance of the Archangel Gabriel's message of
the Good News. In the main body of the Church, there is
depiction of the vision of the Prophet Daniel of the Archangel
Gabriel, with the red medalion "70" - for the 70 days
of years prophesied until the coming of the Messiah, Christ.
The most recent phase, along the side wall, was completed
in 1994.
There, the words "Ave Maria" or Holy Mary" are etched
in eight different languages. |
