The Knights of Columbus is a lay family fraternal organization. Membership is open to all practical Catholic men, age 18 and older. The term practical Catholic implies that a person embraces the precepts and tenents of the Catholic Church. The Council at St. Gabriel Church was established on January 21, 1978 and named after Charles Francis Buddy, the first Bishop for the Diocese of San Diego.
The four main objectives of the Knights of Columbus:

2. To develop Fellowship
3. To perform Charitable, Educational and Patriotic works
4. To provide a system of Fraternal insurance
Each fall, the Knights of Columbus hosts the Harvest Moon Dinner and Auction, its major yearly fundraising event. Other activities include participation in retreats as well as sponsoring parish dinners.
